A Longfellow Bridge for the 21st century

WalkBoston and fellow advocates urge MassDOT to consider a visionary plan for the Longfellow Bridge, taking advantage of the necessity for repairs and turning it into an opportunity to make the bridge into a world-class space. WalkBoston and other advocates presented our exciting multi-modal proposal for the Longfellow Bridge to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Board of Directors on May 5th. We encourage MassDOT to consider a plan that provides better service and safety for MBTA riders, pedestrians and bicyclists and that would transform the bridge into a wonderful place to stroll, jog, bike and admire the beautiful views. You can find details of our vision in this presentation, available on our website. The federal environmental process has not yet started, and once it does we will let you know how to provide comments and participate.
